On September 25, 2025, at HOIANA Resort & Golf, the Vietnam Executive Housekeeper Association (VEHA), in coordination with the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Danang, organized the Danang Housekeeping Skills Competition 2025. This event was held in celebration of International Housekeeping Week and World Tourism Day.

 

 

This year’s competition received enthusiastic participation from VEHA members in the Danang area, local tourist accommodations, and tourism vocational schools, with more than 100 contestants registered.

 

The preliminary round included theory tests and bed-making and decoration techniques. The Judging Committee selected the 16 best contestants to advance to the final round, which featured flower arrangement and situational response challenges.

 

Opening Remarks, Mr. Tao Viet Hai – Deputy Director of the Danang Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism – emphasized: “Tourism is identified as a key pillar for promoting economic growth, social welfare, and the brand positioning of Danang. Through this competition, the Department once again reaffirms its commitment to building a 'green – cultural – high-quality tourism destination'. Focusing on enhancing professional skills and workforce quality—especially in housekeeping, a critical service area in accommodations—is the foundation for Danang to boost its competitiveness in the region, aim for sustainable development, affirm service excellence, and elevate its position on both the domestic and international tourism map.”

Mr. Nguyen Quang – Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Hotel Association, Chairman of VEHA, and member of the Judging Committee – praised the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Danang for their dedication to organizing the competition. He also commended the VEHA Danang Chapter for their strong support and participation, as well as the contestants for their creativity, professional skills, and multitasking abilities that helped honor the values of the housekeeping profession.

 

This year, over 100 contestants from accommodation establishments and 5 tourism vocational schools in Danang took part. The preliminary round tested theoretical knowledge and practical housekeeping skills. 16 finalists competed in flower arranging and real-life scenario presentations.

The Danang Housekeeping Skills Competition 2025 concluded with great joy and some regrets for many contestants, but the journey of professional development continues.
